Report on Ben Vorlich
24 August 2008   (3514 views)

Ben Vorlich

Sunday 24th August 2008

Present:- Irene, Dorothy, Gail, Maureen, Elaina and Steve.

Route:- Parked at Inveruglas and walked past the Sloy Power Station then under the railway bridge on the track towards Loch Sloy. At NN308092 where paths meet, Steve and Elaina decided to take the direct route to the summit. The rest of us carried on along the track until we reached a small cairn between the 3rd and 4th pylon from the dam(NN2951020). This is where we headed steeply uphill eventually reaching a more obvious path at approx 500m. The path to the summit was easy from here. We reached the trig point then carried on to the cairn which is the true summit. Here we waited for Steve and Elaina to join us before heading back down the same route.

Total time - 5hrs 30 mins
