If you have a Hill Walk, Climb, Cycle or Other Activity you would like included then why don't you plan it! Don't be frightened to do so, cos we’ll be delighted to help.  Just ask for assistance.  To include an event on this page please enter the details in the members area or email Irene Cahill with all the necessary details.

If your on our potential members list and need more information then please contact one of the committee via the contacts page.

Many of our members go out informally on a regular basis in small groups/car loads depending on weather conditions etc. with too short a notice to add to this events page. Therefore all members and potential members are advised to attend our club nights as often as they can to find out what's going on and do some networking!

For full contact details and route maps for each event please use the members area.

Please review the club Participation Statement for details on safety and responsibility on club events.

Tuesday 27/12/2016 Day walk Corrour Station
Beinn Na Lap Route Description
After last year's successful (if windy!) trip plan is to repeat the adventure hopefully with a bit of snow this time! Subject to ScotRail confirming winter timetable plan will be to drive to Arrochar station to catch 9.37am train, arriving at Corrour at 11.21am. Return on 6.25pm arriving back at Arrochar at 8.06pm. 7 hours between trains gives plenty of time to do either Beinn Na Lap, Leum Ulleim or a circuit around Loch Ossian. The cafe at Corrour Station is unfortunately closed in winter but I anticipate we will take disosable BBQs like we did last year to cook burgers!
January 2017
Friday 27/1/2017 Weekend Glencoe Independent Hostel
Glencoe Routes
Glencoe Alpine Bunkhouse (http://www.glencoehostel.co.uk/hostel-bunkhouse/alpine-bunkhouse/) booked for exclusive use. 1 x 8 bedded and 2 x 4 bedded rooms.

Cost 30 per person for two nights self catering accommodation. Eat/drink at the Clachaig Inn on Fri and Sat evenings. Lots of walking options (http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/fortwilliam/glencoe.shtml).

Please remember that the club does not provide leaders for walks and that everyone is responsible for their own safety on the hills. This is especially important in winter when (hopefully!) there will be snow on the ground and daylight hours are much shorter.

Contact Steve Morley to check if spaces still available.
March 2017
Friday 31/3/2017 Weekend Cairngorms
Glenmore Lodge
After last summer's successful trip to Glenmore Lodge in the Cairngorms some of us are planning a return visit at the end of the winter (we would have liked to go in the middle of winter but unfortunately Glenmore Lodge use the chalets for accommodating people on their winter skills courses).

There are only two 4 berth self catering chalets available at a cost of 215 for two nights (53.75 per person). I have booked one for myself, Elaina, Gail and Andrea. The other chalet is still currently available so if anyone else is interested please get together and book direct with Glenmore Lodge (http://www.glenmorelodge.org.uk/accommodation-facilities/accommodation/). Bed and breakfast also available. Glenmore Lodge is popular so I would suggest booking asap. From experience I would suggest phoning as they aren't always that quick at replying to emails.

Alan, Kathryn and Niamh are going to bring their caravan to the nearby Glenmore Campsite (http://www.campingintheforest.co.uk/scotland/aviemore/glenmore-campsite) which also takes campervans and tents.

There are lots of options for high and low level walks (see http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/cairngorms/aviemore.shtml).
May 2017
Friday 19/5/2017 Weekend Kinlochleven
walkhighlands.co.uk Routes
A Kinlochleven meet is being arranged for weekend of Friday 19th to Sunday 21st/Monday 22nd May 2017.

Some of us are planning a repeat of our Ten Mamores Munros epic (see https://ayrshiretiger.wordpress.com/2014/06/10/a-long-walk-in-the-mamores/). Obviously this is a very strenuous walk (approx 23 miles/11,000 feet of ascent) and will be a very long day with an early start. However there are also plenty of other walks in the area (http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/fortwilliam/glencoe.shtml).

Accommodation available at the MacDonald Hotel (rooms/cabins/camping) - see http://www.macdonaldhotel.co.uk/. Plenty of other accommodation as well (http://www.kinlochleven.co.uk/see-and-do/local-directory/). Please get together and organise/book accommodation directly.

Plan is to arrive Friday and meet in the evening at the MacDonald Hotel for bar meal/drinks. Depending on weather attempt the Ten Munros on Saturday (with Sunday as a back up day) or do other walks if preferred. Sunday walks dependent on weather/fitness after Saturday! Return either Sunday or Monday.
