Report on Ben Ledi
19 February 2012

Today's Craggys were - Ewan, Robin, Gail and Irene.

After some snow, the weather forecast looked perfect for some winter walking. We decided on Ben Ledi and travelled together to the start of the walk just outside Callendar on the A84 at Strathyre.

Once we got through the forest the views were magnificent with excellent visibility. The path soon became icy so on went the spikes. Once we got onto snow it was also perfect for spikes and it was hard and crisp. There were many people out on the hill today. Nearer the summit it became cold and windy so it was hats on. Now this is when Ewan brought out another of his silly hats. This time it was a Tigger hat and bouncing tail! This certainly encouraged many folk to make comment but it brightened up the day for everyone.

We arrived at the summit trig and decided to take the route down the Stank Glen, passed the waterfall and along Loch Lubnaig back to the car. A great day out and possibly the best day of the winter in perfect conditions.
